The incumbent Registrar of the National Examinations Council, (NECO) Professor Godswill Obioma has been killed by gunmen suspected to be hired assassins, on the night of Monday, May 31, 2021.
The registrar was killed when the assailants stormed his residence in Minna, the Niger State capital.
According to the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Elizabeth Obioma, the assassins reportedly stormed their residence, killed him, and left without taking anything.
The 67-year-old indigene of Abia State was appointed NECO Registrar in May 2020.
