Leader of Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has donated N50 million to support the victims of the Katsina Central Market.
The donation has led to controversy, as many Nigerians have considered Tinubu’s donation as politically motivated donation as the politician is allegedly contesting for the 2023 presidential election.
Reacting to the philanthropy donation made by Tinubu, many social media users on Twitter questions why he did not donate to victims of the Sasa market fire which happened in Lagos state.
The former Lagos governor on Wednesday, March 24, visited the Katsina state governor, Aminu Masarin , to condole with the state government and people affected by the fire incident.
Addressing the press conference, Mr Tinubu explained that the purpose of his visit to the states is to sympathise with the victims, while he emphasises that there is a need to promote unity among Nigerians.
He also encouraged the traders to commence commercial activities in the market despite the level of damages caused by the fire.
See some if the reactions below.
Tinubu didn’t donate a kobo after Sasa crisis, he didn’t donate when Akesan happened, he was mute during the Abule Addo but quick to rush down to Katsina to drop 50m.
We can’t dictate how he intends to spend his money but the posturing is too obvious. Trying to satisfy a region.

Wike donated N500m to Sokoto.
Tinubu donated N500m to Katsina.
The struggle to lick ass is real.
I will never be part of this nonsense.
